Nokia N9 Unboxing
This is the unboxing of one of the most beautiful devices ever .. the legendary Nokia N9. The handset is so georgeous that you find it very difficult to put it down. The screen is just amazing and it’s a pleasure to look at, and the build quality is top notch. A typical thing you’d expect from a Nokia device. Let’s cut the crap, straight to the video: What do you think? Throw it in the comments.
Why Nokia N9 is not dead on arrival
Nokia N9 has been announced since June, and since then it had got mixed feelings, while almost everyone agreed it was superior in terms in both hardware and software and adored its design, everyone was worried about its future as it uses a doomed OS, MeeGo. But after I think about it for a while, I’m actually not worried about its future at all, and here is why: 1. It’s not MeeGo that really counts, it’s Qt. And Nokia is pushing Qt just as its main strategy, Windows Phone. 2. Qt API Mapping tool has been just released, and it allows for easier porting from iOS, Android and, yes, Windows Phone. Goodbye Steve Jobs
It’s a huge loss in the whole industry. The genius and visionary Steve Jobs has passed away earlier today at the age of 56. Goodbye Steve, you will not be forgotten. The statement from Apple’s Board reads: We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts. What the heck is Stephen Elop doing?
Ever since Apple & Google entered the phone market we saw Nokia losing ground and market share to these two. But it wasn’t so bad for Nokia, at least as a strategy. They had Maemo/MeeGo for the high tier, Symbian for mid and S40 for low tier. This is a solid strategy, had it been executed successfully, it would have allowed them to get back to be the market leaders again. Nokia had problems, of course, but they all were execution problems, not strategic. A change in directors would have seemed the best solution, and it have. OPK was replaced by Elop, a former Microsoftie. This sounded great at the beginning, a fresh CEO with programming skills and a more technical background than OPK to drive the future of the largest handheld manufacturer in the...
